Julia Zaluzny Education Foundation
The goal of our foundation is to provide educational opportunities for determined students by monitoring innovations in education and educational research and funding the development of alternative high schools that employ the best of these practices. By examining our schools and disseminating our findings, we aim to improve the state of education as a whole.
News: We held a small, cozy second annual meeting recently. Trying to get everyone together had delayed the meeting from July (when we had originally hpoped to hold it) until the end of October! We discussed what needed to be done this year, looked back at last year with its many delays but several bright spots, and reaffirmed our committment to both the foundation and the school.
We've received our initial corporate application back with a few small changes needed, so those have been added and we're going to resubmit soon. We anticipate no further problems with the application. The next step after this is the 501(c)3 application.
One of our founders, Emma White, has decided to step up and tackle a significant amount of the important work that needs to be done this year. With so many of our founding members busy this year, she deserves a lot of credit for this hard work.
